Meet our Club President – Phil Struthers
I first became a part of the Narangba Crows back in 2003 as a player in the very first team of Under 8s.
My motivation to step up into the role of President was to help the club. The Club have been part of my life as I have been part of it since the very beginning. There are many facets to the Club and having been around it most of my life I have a very good understanding about how it all works and how we can foster the passion of footy with our kids. With 20 years of inspiring youngsters to play AFL, I wanted to help the club keep moving forward into the future.
The best part of the Crows is that it’s all about the family and fun side of football. Trying our best to make sure everyone gets out and has a fair go and has fun while doing it. If we win on the way that’s awesome too but as long as everyone is having fun that should be the main part for us.
We have football opportunities from our little Auskickers right through to Youth Football. In 2023 we are set to celebrate our 20th year in the community, and we will be working hard to spread the word about how the Narangba Crows is going to be here for another 20+ years to keep supporting the footy goals of our local kids and their families. This is especially important as we I am a firm believer in sport being a great way to support our physical and mental health. I also know that it is a great way to meet friends that will be there for you through your life. I have met all of my best mates through football.
Each year as the season begins I am always so excited for the kids and families as I know they are creating many memories, I myself have so many great memories down at the Crows, it is hard to pick just one. Playing at the Gabba at half time when I was 10. The finals game played at Beenleigh where there was mud all over the field. Or assisting my little brothers team through to the grand final and getting the win after many years of trying.
